What's New for the 2018 Hyundai Ioniq?

The new Ioniq is packing a bigger punch than ever before. This year, the SEL and Limited models get steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. You can use them to downshift, creating an extra burst of speed to help you stream into highway traffic or pass slower vehicles. The new lane departure warning system also includes lane-departure assist, which intervenes when you drift outside your intended lane, actively bringing you back to safety.

2018 Hyundai Ioniq - Futuristic Features

This compact hatchback hybrid is available as three trim models: the base Blue, mid-range SEL and top-trim Limited. In the Ioniq Blue, you'll find a well-equipped modern ride. Keyless entry and ignition help you make a clean getaway. The dual-zone automatic climate controls let both driver and front passenger set different temperatures to create perfect road-trip comfort levels. Standard tech features include a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB Port. The Blue also comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, infotainment technology that projects smartphone apps like Phone and Messages directly onto your central touchscreen, minimizing on-road distractions. With the mid-range SEL model, you can increase interior luxury with heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. When you upgrade to the Limited, you'll enjoy everything the Ioniq has to offer, from leather upholstery to sleek LED cabin lighting. The Limited also offers an optional wireless charging pad, making it easy to keep your favorite device ready for action.

Engine with Incredible Fuel Economy

Under the hood, the Ioniq is packing a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that works in conjunction with a battery-powered electric motor. This hybrid powertrain generates a total 139 horsepower. That's plenty of output for a smooth ride around town. And, of course, the Ioniq hybrid also impresses with its thrifty EPA ratings, earning up to 58 mpg combined.

Safety In the 2018 Ioniq

All models come standard with a rearview camera, so you can back out of your driveway as safely as possible. The Ioniq SEL also improves safety with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, helping you identify vehicles you may not be able to see. When you add the Tech package to the SEL, you're getting a number of high-tech safety upgrades, including automatic emergency braking. This technology can sense an oncoming accident and automatically apply the brakes to avoid or mitigate damages. The Tech package also includes lane departure warning with lane departure mitigation, which actively helps you stay on-track by gently guiding you back in between the proper white lines. The Tech package's adaptive cruise control comes in handy on the highway. It can detect the speed of the vehicle in front of you and adjust your speed accordingly. With the opt-trim Limited, you get the Blue Link emergency telematics system. Use features like on-demand roadside assistance and automatic collision notification to solve serious problems in a hurry.
