OEM Hyundai Parts in Phoenix, AZ

Welcome to Our Parts Department

When you get into an accident or if a part on your car breaks, you have two options for fixing it. One is called Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the other is aftermarket. OEM parts are offered by certified dealerships like ours. These parts are built to be identical to the ones that need to be replaced on your car. Aftermarket parts have a more generic fit. They are offered through many independent repair shops, and often for a lower price that OEM parts. But there are disadvantages to going with aftermarket parts, including the fact that they're not always readily available.

When your car needs a part replaced - whether it's something minor like a tail light or side mirror, or something major like the engine or a component in the suspension system, just contact us for assistance, and we will gladly help you out.

What are the Benefits of OEM Parts vs Aftermarket Parts?

Quality that Holds Up the Hyundai Name

There are many ways in which OEM and aftermarket parts are different, and one is in their level of quality. Most people are drawn to aftermarket parts for the prospect of a getting a “good deal” on a cheaper part. But what customers are not always told by their mechanics is that the quality level between OEM and aftermarket parts varies, and it can vary significantly. That's because OEM parts are built to a certain level of quality, which is backed by an industry warranty.

Aftermarket parts are not held to the same quality standard. Therefore, their quality is unpredictable. You might get a part that works fine, but you might not. To avoid the risk of ending up with a bad part that needs to be replaced soon after you get it, it's best to go with a higher quality OEM part up front.

OEM Brakes and Parts

Another area in which OEM parts and aftermarket parts differ is warranty. Because OEM parts are built to a high level of quality, they are usually backed by a warranty, which is usually one year at the least. So if the part breaks within a reasonable time after it's been replaced, you can usually get it replaced at little or no additional support. An added advantage of OEM parts is that many are now coming with a national warranty. This means that if the same part breaks during the warranty period when you're not in the area, you can bring your car to the closest Hyundai dealership to have the same part replaced.

Along with quality and warranty, another difference between OEM and aftermarket parts is in their production. OEM parts are built by the same manufacturer that makes your car, which means the parts will fit exactly as they are supposed to. They will also be tailored to your precise model, year, and trim level.

Aftermarket parts, in contrast, are made by a third party manufacturer. Therefore, their fit may not be as precise as it should be. This can cause problems down the road, ranging from safety issues to dealing with issues caused by ill-fitting parts, which can impair the car's performance and even affect the longevity of surrounding parts in the system. When you go to have the part replaced in the future, an OEM part will be much easier to find an identical match for and swap out than an aftermarket part, which can take some trial and error to fit.
