2021 Hyundai Veloster

Introducing the 2021 Hyundai Veloster

The 2021 Hyundai Veloster is back with its sporty look and continues to add to the variety of body styles within the Hyundai lineup. This three-door hatchback carries over all the features from the previous year's model that enthusiasts have come to know and love.

2021 Veloster Trims & Features

The 2021 Hyundai Veloster is available in five trim levels: 2.0, 2.0 Premium, Turbo R-Spec, Turbo, and Turbo Ultimate. All vehicle trims have two rows of seats that can accommodate up to four people. For comfort and convenience, the Veloster 2.0 combines components such as a 3.5-inch monochromatic TFT instrument cluster, a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system, Bluetooth hands-free phone calling and audio streaming ability, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, a USB port, an auxiliary audio jack, and a 7-inch color touchscreen.

Options or upgrades on higher trim levels include automatic climate control, a 4.2-inch color instrument cluster, a heads-up display, proximity key entry with push-button engine start, the Hyundai Blue Link telematics system, HD Radio, a navigation system, an 8-inch color touchscreen, a trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio, and an eight-speaker Infinity stereo system.

2021 Hyundai Veloster Horsepower

The base engine on the 2021 Hyundai Veloster is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission on the 2.0 trim level. However, if you go with the 2.0 Premium trim, that transmission is replaced with a 6-speed automatic gearbox for more convenient gear-shifting ability. The other three trims are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which provides greater strength and acceleration with an output of 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The 6-speed manual gearbox goes on the Turbo R-Spec, and the Turbo and Turbo Ultimate have a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Hyundai Veloster Safety

The 2021 Hyundai Veloster comes with two frontal impact airbags, two front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and two roof-mounted side curtain airbags to provide restraint and cushioning during a collision. However, to help prevent a collision, the car includes a blind-spot mirror, Lane Keeping Assist, and driver attention warning. Other standard safety features on the Veloster include a rearview camera, LED daytime running lights, torque vectoring control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, traction control, and Brake Assist. Upper-level trims will vary with more features such as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, Smart Cruise Control, forward collision warning, and pedestrian detection.
