Arizona BBQ Festival Comes to the Valley on May 2

The Arizona BBQ Festival and Redneck Games is the most root-toot-tootiness good time you’ll have all summer. One of the biggest BBQ festivals in the state, the AZ BBQ Fest is the perfect time to put on your best Stetson and cowboys boots and chow down on some terrific BBQ.

Taking place this Saturday, May 2, BBQ lovers from around the state will be found at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick to enjoy live bands, “redneck” games, craft beers and more smoked meat than they can handle.

General admission to the event is $12 per person, but attendees can buy a VIP pass that includes 5 drinks and $8 worth of food tokens. Bonus luxuries include private restrooms and a special place by the main stage. AZ BBQ Fest is a family-friendly event, so bring the kids to the fest’s special “Kids Village” that features bouncy houses, games, rides and more. Kids under 12 get in for free, but you’ll have to leave Rover at home.

Adults will have even more to enjoy, including two costume contests, mechanical bull riding, eating contests and a giant game of beer pong. Also, the AZ BBQ Fest has bacon: 500 pounds of bacon to be exact. Costumes are welcome as well, so be sure to dress in your favorite redneck outfit. You might even win a prize!
