What's New for the 2022 Hyundai Kona?

The Kona is receiving a complete refresh, both inside and out for the 2022 model. On the outside, the grille has a new wide-mouth design for an even bolder look. There is also a new design for the exterior lights and wheel options to check out.

Inside the cabin, the infotainment screen is now 8-inches standard. There is a 10.25-inch touchscreen available on select models as well. Drivers can choose to add several new optional interior features to their Kona too, including heated rear seats, wireless device charging, and a digital gauge display. A brand-new N Line model also debuts for the Kona in 2022.

Which Features Are Available for 2022?

Now that there is the N Line, buyers have four total options for the 2022 Kona. The entry-level model is the SE, and it gives drivers a solid standard equipment list. Highlights include wireless versions of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as several advanced safety features.

The SEL adds more comfort and convenience by way of features like Bluelink Connected Car System and a push button start key, while the N Line is a sportier version of the Kona. It includes race-inspired design elements and a more powerful engine. The top trim is the Limited. It has the same engine as the N Line, plus many luxurious features such as leather trimmed seats and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

2022 Hyundai Kona Performance

The SE and SEL models of the Kona are powered by a 147-horsepower four-cylinder engine in 2022. These models also use a six-speed automatic transmission. Choosing the N Line or Limited model means getting a turbocharged four-cylinder that pumps out 195-horsepower. For this engine, Hyundai gives the Kona a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
