Hyundai Hope on Wheels Celebrates Largest Year Yet at 27th Anniversary Gala

Cancer can strike individuals at any age, but it seems more tragic when a child is stricken with such a terrible disease. Although many types of cancer can be treated, this is not always the case. Therefore, Hyundai created the Hope on Wheels initiative to fund research to increase the survival rate.

What Has Hyundai Done So Far?

The Hope on Wheels program is entering its 27th year in 2025, and with that in mind, the company pledged to donate $27 million. The pledge came during a gala event in Washington, D.C., attended by company executives, researchers, and other important stakeholders. The charity has donated $27 million to hospitals and other research institutions to help them in their work.

The Program Is Expanding

For the entirety of its history, Hope on Wheels has focused on helping children in the United States. However, earlier in 2025, the charity expanded into Canada, and there are plans to expand into Mexico as well. This will provide healthcare providers, patients, and others in those countries with the resources needed to solve the issue of childhood cancer.

The Program Has Yielded Positive Results

Thanks in part to the Hope on Wheels campaign, the survival rate for those with childhood cancers has increased from 75% to 85%. Of course, the end goal is to make sure that all children are able to survive and thrive after their battles with cancer. Research can help to pinpoint the causes of certain cancers as well as develop better treatments tailored to each patient's needs.
