The global hydrogen energy transition is already underway, and Hyundai is excited to become a leader in this historic movement. The introduction of their XCIENT Fuel Cell truck was one of the most thrilling moments of the ACT Expo in Anaheim, California. Hyundai tailored the XCIENT FC to North American buyers, focusing on advanced driver assistance systems and multiple hydrogen technologies that promote better performance and tech.

The ACT Expo was held from April 28 to May 1st, 2025. While Hyundai has already assumed a leadership position in the transition to hydrogen energy, it is not satisfied with just being a part of things. It wants to be the leader going forward. Ken Ramirez spoke up about Hyundai's ambitious XCIENT FC and hydrogen technology.

"At Hyundai Motor, we are redefining the future of clean logistics with innovative solutions that prioritize safety, efficiency, and sustainability," Ramirez says, "By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems features and forging strategic partnerships to enhance operations and infrastructure, we are empowering our fleet partners to navigate a rapidly changing landscape and lead the transition to a smarter and more sustainable future."

Hyundai's ambitions were a lot of fun to hear about, but the real fun started when they showed the results of their hard work: the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell truck. The production model took top billing at the 2025 EXPO. So what is it? Hyundai bills it as the "world's first mass-produced hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck, advancing zero-tailpipe emission commercial transportation." The truck has already been released in other markets, but the North America edition is brand new and ready to take commercial truckers to new heights.

The newest version, to be released in the North American market, will feature an upgraded fuel cell system and a maximum torque of 2,237 NM. In the right conditions, the truck can get 450 miles of range. Hyundai also upgraded the interior to include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with physical buttons.
