Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA Partner to Further Development of AI Solutions for Future Mobility

Hyundai is a leader in the auto world for numerous reasons. Its vehicles stand out for their reliability, practicality, safety, and technology. Now, Hyundai has plans for even more innovation on the road. The automaker announced it would partner with NVIDIA to develop more advanced mobility technologies.

Hyundai Motor Group will now use AI-based technologies, including robotics and software-based vehicles, to bring more innovation to its vehicles and business operations. Hyundai plans to add some specific technology to its vehicles as well to improve their safety profile and make driving more convenient for drivers, such as autonomous driving capabilities. Hyundai will use advanced AI software and NVIDIA's accelerated computing technology by partnering with NVIDIA. That partnership, Hyundai notes, will allow large volumes of data to be stored. Additionally, Hyundai will be able to train its AI-based models sufficiently in various capacities. To ensure that its vehicles are safe on the road, Hyundai will also work with NVIDIA to create reliable and safe autonomous driving systems using virtual simulation. Ultimately, Hyundai states that it aims to create safer and more intelligent cars using NVIDIA's advanced software.

Although it plans to develop more AI-based vehicles, Hyundai's use of advanced technology will span its business operations. Hyundai also plans to use AI software in its manufacturing plants to improve production processes and expedite manufacturing. Hyundai aims to have its vehicles built into “smart factories” that improve quality and boost plant productivity.

Vehicle Platforms

While Hyundai will announce more specific details at a later date, it has released some details about the specific platforms and technology it intends to use. One is enterprise software, which is an AI tool that helps with data management for robotics and automated driving. Hyundai will also use the NVIDIA Omniverse Platform, which allows the partners to create visual simulation environments. This platform will make manufacturing more efficient, optimize costs, and assist with quality control. Hyundai also plans to adopt NVIDIA's robot development platform, which develops and deploys AI-powered robots. The platform allows robots to operate safely and efficiently throughout Hyundai's business operations.
