Hyundai Motor Reveals Bold and Efficient Hydrogen FCEV Concept Previewing New Design Language

Hyundai continues to showcase its ability to develop cutting-edge automobiles. The automaker's latest hydrogen-powered INITIUM concept vehicle has created a great deal of buzz. This model boasts excellent efficiency using a clean energy source and introduces Hyundai's new “Art of Steel” design language.

Bold Steel Styling

The INITIUM's rugged design language makes a bold statement. While this vehicle's steel exterior looks tough enough to handle the great outdoors, it perfectly suits urban environments. You'll immediately notice the SUV's hulking fenders. Armored-style bumpers add more flair. Aside from enhancing the concept's aggressive stance, the 21-inch aero wheels also help improve efficiency by reducing wind drag.

Of course, everyone will pay attention to the INITIUM's signature lights. Square headlights and integrated grille lights help the front fascia to stand out. The pixel-like rear lights are just as eye-catching. Yet another cool feature is the vehicle's integrated roof rack, ideal for active lifestyles.

Clean Energy

Hydrogen fuel cell technology enables the INITIUM to deliver a strong yet eco-friendly performance. No harmful exhaust emissions are produced. While Hyundai has yet to release any official horsepower numbers, expect the INITIUM to accelerate quicker than previous FCEV vehicles. The goal is also to achieve a maximum driving range of more than 400 miles. Owners can even use the vehicle as an emergency generator when camping or experiencing a power outage at home.
