We're proud to announce the North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year panel have awarded the 2021 Hyundai Elantra as the North American Car of the Year. This isn't the first time the Elantra has received this award. Back in 2012, it received the same accreditation. Impressively, it is one of only three vehicles to receive this award multiple times.

The Selection Process
Jurors on the North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year panel reviewed and tested more than 40 different vehicles before selecting the Elantra. This is the 28th year that this award has been handed out. It's a unique award because of its independence from other publications, organizations and companies, and it's among the most respected awards in the auto industry. Some of the different categories of criteria that are considered include innovative design, safety features, performance, technology, driver satisfaction and value.
