Attend the Phoenix's Veterans Day Parade Nov. 11

This Nov. 11, 2016, the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade is once again coming to the Valley.

Hosted by Honoring Arizona’s Veterans (HAV), this annual parade is a tribute to Arizona's many military servicemen and women, both veterans and active duty. This is the 20th anniversary of the parade, with this year’s theme being “Welcome Home Vietnam Heroes.”

The event will feature not only patriotic floats, but also marching bands and color guards from local high schools, several Veteran service organizations and even some novelty attractions. Also, look for a flyover of WWII biplanes, which will provide an extra-special treat for the occasion.

The mission of the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade is “to create an annual Veterans Day Parade to honor the contributions of our United States Veterans, and help build a patriotic Phoenix community spirit that recognizes the sacrifices Veterans make for our country.”

The parade will run southbound on Central Avenue in Phoenix starting at Montebello, then turning east on Camelback. To see a map of the parade’s full route, visit their website here!
