The summer is heating up and that means the Desert Botanical Gardens is once again hosting their annual Flashlight Tours. Starting this June and running through September 5, 2015, the Flashlight Tours are a great way to explore the Gardens at night.
Bring your best flashlight to the Gardens and see, listen and feel your way through the desert. You’ll see a variety of different plant and animal species, who all love the desert when the sun goes down. There will be 10 discovery stations throughout the Gardens' trails, which will include fun information on everything from Agave and night blooming plants to tarantulas and desert tortoises.
These tours are self-guided and are staffed by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers. Kids and adults of all ages will love this fun and sensory experience that really brings the desert alive.
For the best experience, you'll need to bring your own flashlight, good walking shoes and comfortable clothes. Additional flashlights will be available at the Gardens for purchase. The tours will be every Thursday and Saturday. For more information about this year’s Flashlight Tours, contact the Desert Botanical Gardens at 480.941.1225. Admission is included with DBG membership or with price of general admission.
