Hyundai’s Super Bowl 50 commercial “First Date” won the highly coveted Ad Meter award. Given out by USA TODAY, the Ad Meter Prize is “one of the nation's most closely watched gauges of advertising success.” According to the paper, nearly 20,000 panelists judged this year’s Super Bowl ads, deciding finally on Hyundai’s hilarious commercial.

Thanks to the ad, Hyundai became the first automaker to earn the award. “First Date” wasn’t the only Hyundai commercial to place in USA TODAY’s survey, their ads “Ryanville” with Ryan Reynolds and “The Chase” also placed in fifth and sixth place, respectively.

In the award-winning ad, comedian Kevin Hart highlights fantastic technology, including Blue Link Car Finder, which Hart uses to make sure his daughter gets home safely from a date. It’s a hilarious spot that had viewers laughing throughout the big game.

“On the biggest advertising day of the year, we wanted to entertain Super Bowl fans with creative storytelling and relevant, popular celebrities, while showcasing the innovative technology features of our vehicles. Our formula clearly resonated with the thousands of Ad Meter voters,” said Dean Evans, chief marketing officer, Hyundai Motor America.
