The award-winning 2014 Hyundai Veloster continues to be highly praised this year and its latest achievement is a five-star crash test rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As the mecca of all ratings handed out by the NHTSA, the five-star score is an absolute honor to have, and for the Veloster to undergo tests in the five-star category for the first time, and receive the high rating, is astounding.

Contributing to the Veloster's five-star rating is its motor-drive power steering, vehicle stability management system and electronic stability control. It also features an incredible braking package, including brake assist, an anti-lock brake system and electronic-force distribution, which each work to adjust braking force when needed in various situations. In addition to the Veloster, other Hyundai models that have earned five-star safety ratings include the Genesis, Elantra, Sonata and Santa Fe.

"The Veloster nameplate was designed to bring a new, unconventional look to the subcompact car segment without compromising occupant safety," said Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. "Through the employment of high-tech safety systems like Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist and the use of high-strength, yet lightweight materials during construction, we are able to deliver a package that is unique, but safer than ever."
