What's New for the 2018 Hyundai Tucson?

With sleek lines, a spacious interior, and maximum comfort, the 2018 Hyundai Tucson is back with better trims, higher horsepower and additional safety features. Available in front or all-wheel-drive options, the 2018 Hyundai Tucson is a value-based vehicle in terms of price and size featured in Hyundai's selection of SUVs. Like the 2017 model, the 2018 Hyundai Tucson offers a high safety rating with features such as rear parking sensors, as well as LED headlights and taillights. As far as trims go, the 2018 Hyundai Tucson has gone through some changes: The SE Plus trim has been renamed as SEL Plus and the Value Trim has replaced the Sport Trim. The New SEL trim features items from last year's SE Popular Equipment Package. The Limited trim remains; while the high fuel economy rated Eco Trim and dramatic Night trim with black wheels have been discontinued. The 2018 Tucson models with SEL and Value trims allow you to watch your favorite shows a 7-inch infotainment display that integrates smartphones using Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Formerly, the SEL trim came with a smaller sized 5-inch screen.Designed for a comfortable ride, the 2018 Tucson comes with standard heated steering wheels for Limited AWD models and heated driver and front passenger seats for all models with SEL trim and up.

The 2018 Hyundai Tucson is available in SE, SEL, and SEL Plus, Value and Limited trim levels. Heated front seats have been expanded to the lower-level SEL trim and above models, which also feature SiriusXM Radio and HD Radio. Like its prior models, all Tucsons will feature the Infinity Audio System. Features that will remain for all 2018 Hyundai Tucson models will include the 8.0-inch touchscreen navigation system and 4.2-inch display screen. The Value trim model also offers an inside rearview mirror that automatically dims and is accompanied by a 7-inch screen. All SEL Plus and Limited models come with three years of complimentary Blue Link Connected Care, as well as Remote Services to lock and unlock your car. In addition, the Guidance package helps drivers navigate the roads safely with regular multimedia system updates and free maps.

The standard power for the 2018 Hyundai Tucson comes from a 2.0-liter engine with 4-cylinders and a 6-speed automatic with manual shift mode, resulting in 164 horsepower and torque of 151 foot pounds. The SE, SEL, and SEL Plus models feature standard horsepower. For faster acceleration, you can also spring for the 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower and a torque of 191 foot pounds featuring a 7-speed dual clutch, available with the Value and Limited models.

The Hyundai Tucson received the NHTSA's highest rating of 5-stars. As an IIHS "Top Safety Pick" for 2018, the Tucson achieved the maximum "good" ratings in crash testing and protection. Versions of the Tucson with Blue Link include safety features for teen drivers related to boundary alerts, speed, and even curfew.
