Looking for a safe, family-friendly way to spend Halloween weekend with your little monsters? On Oct. 27 and 28, the Phoenix Zoo will be opening up its gates after dark for its annual ‘Howl-O-Ween’ party.

Boys and ghouls of every age will find something to take delight— or fright—in at this spooktacular event! In fact, the event offers a range of activities, each categorized as either “merry” or “scary.”

Merry activities are designed for zoo-goers of all ages, especially the little kiddos who aren’t quite ready for the spooky stuff. There are 15 merry attractions throughout the zoo to visit, including the Trick or Treat Doors, Video Arcade Adventure, Mad Science Laboratory, Extinct Animal Graveyard, Boo Ball dance party, Fantasy Meet and Greets, and Pirates of the “Scare”ibbean.

Kids eight and older looking for a dose of fright are sure to find it at one of the many scary activities. With several spine-tingling attractions to explore, such as Camp Nightmare, Walking Dead Way, House of Voodoo and Area 51, the owls won’t be the only nocturnal creatures at the zoo those nights!

The party takes place each night from 6-10:30 p.m. Tickets are $12.95 (kids 2 and under are free) and can be purchased online or at the gate.

Happy Halloween!
